Escape Room FAQ

Reservations are required to guarantee a specific experience and time: visit our “Book Now” page to make a future reservation or call us for same day availability! We can never 100% guarantee walk-in appointments as we will always prioritize reservations that have already been made. If you have specific accommodations or are trying to book for a large group/corporate event, please email us at stpaul@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, minneapolis@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, or call us directly so we can help you set up your booking!

Visit our “Book Now” page to make a reservation. Search by location, date, or experience to find the perfect time for your group! You can also click the “Book Now” button while on any room’s page to go directly to that room’s available times!

After you book, you are able to add players up to the time of your reservation by contacting us. You cannot remove players who have already been paid for, and we cannot offer refunds for unused tickets, so we encourage you to make your initial booking for the guaranteed minimum number of players you expect to join you!

Please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking time. This check-in window offers groups a chance to sign waivers, use the restroom, check out our lobby puzzles, and get key information from our Game Masters prior to the experience!

We encourage you to dress comfortably and for movement: closed-toe shoes are recommended and we ask for participants not to remove their shoes while in the rooms. While not extremely strenuous, our escape rooms sometimes require participants to kneel or crawl. If you use reading glasses in your day-to-day, make sure to bring those along: every room will have important clues to read! While we ask for no photos or videos to be taken inside the rooms, phones are okay to use as notepads, flashlights, etc while puzzling!

If you are running late for your reservation, please call the appropriate location and let us know! We will try to accommodate your group as our booking schedule allows, but may need to reschedule your reservation (which is free of charge).

You can reschedule your room for free as long as you contact us beforehand! Please email stpaul@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, minneapolis@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, or give us a call for assistance. Please keep in mind that we cannot reschedule bookings from the past.

If you have made a reservation by mistake, you can contact us within 24 hours for a full refund. After that time, refunds will not be offered, however in the case of emergencies it may be possible to reschedule your booking or apply credit to a future booking. We want to accommodate you as best as we can, so please email stpaul@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, minneapolis@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, or give us a call for any assistance!

There are no age restrictions for our experiences, but be advised that participants under the age of 10 may struggle with some puzzle concepts. We do require reservations with any puzzler aged 16 and under to include a participating adult. Anyone under the age of 18 will need their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.

You are welcome to bring your small child in the room with you, but we ask that you attach or keep them close to you for safety reasons! If your child is old enough to move around independently and interact with props or set pieces, they will require a ticket of their own. For safety AND fun’s sake, we always recommend that there be more than one adult in the room for large groups of children and for the adults to participate in the puzzles themselves! (Keep in mind that any group of puzzlers younger than 16 does require at least one adult in the room with them).

Unfortunately, no. Food and drinks are not allowed in our experiences (other than closed-top water bottles for brain hydration!), but both of our locations are near a number of great restaurants! We love when groups celebrate their escape with dinner or drinks and are happy to provide recommendations!

If you would like to escape with more than the maximum number of puzzlers that can be booked online, please email us at stpaul@trappedpuzzlerooms.com or minneapolis@trappedpuzzlerooms.com. We would love to talk through your possible options and assist in making your booking!

No, all of our experiences are private bookings! Regardless of how many tickets you have purchased, you will only be puzzling with the people you know. If you’d like to add extra people to a booking after making your reservation, please call or email the Trapped location you’ve booked with!

No, you won’t have to worry about being literally Trapped: the entrances to our rooms never actually get locked. Puzzlers are free to exit and re-enter their rooms as needed, but keep in mind the rooms’ time limits as we cannot pause your timers!

We can set up a party space for you at either location with enough advance notice! Please email minneapolis@trappedpuzzlerooms.com or stpaul@trappedpuzzlerooms.com for more information about booking the party space before or after your escape room experience has concluded.

We love a good team-building activity and have successfully hosted corporate events, both large and small! Contact us at stpaul@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, minneapolis@trappedpuzzlerooms.com, or call us directly to discuss the possibilities! Groups of 20 or more puzzlers are eligible for a 20% discount on all bookings.

We have ways to accommodate most groups — please get in touch with us if you have specific questions about accessibility and we will be happy to work with you! You can email stpaul@trappedpuzzlerooms.com or minneapolis@trappedpuzzlerooms.com and we will do our best get back to you promptly.

 – Keep in mind that all of our rooms require some level of reading/visual comprehension, many rooms can have audio cues as part of their puzzles, and certain rooms will require at least one puzzler to be able to bend over/crawl on their hands and knees or possess trichromacy (be unaffected by colorblindness). Many of our puzzle rooms have doorways/hallways that larger wheelchairs cannot fit through (some doorways range from 25-30 inches in width). Our Minneapolis location has an elevator, and our St. Paul location has wheelchair-accessible entrances for the top and bottom floor. We do not recommend our Wizard’s Tower room for puzzlers with mobility issues, as this is our only puzzle room with two built-in staircases.

None of our rooms are “horror movie” scary, though some of our experiences do have some surprise elements that may briefly startle puzzlers. Our “scariest” experience is Nutcracker Nightmare at our Saint Paul location, but it is cartoonishly spooky and has been enjoyed by puzzlers of all ages.

All groups are private bookings. If you have Covid-19 symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 5 days, please do not come to our location — reach out to us and we will be happy to reschedule your group. Please wear a mask if it is within 10 days of your last positive test.

A gift voucher can be redeemed in one of two ways: You can follow the link provided with your voucher which will take you to a page that prompts you to enter 6-digit code prior to booking. Or, you can begin the booking process by selecting your desired experience and time and proceed through the checkout process as usual. Before you submit payment, click the green “Enter Code” button which can be found under your experience Total and provide your 6-digit code. The new price should be reflected before you complete your booking.

We love celebrating your success! Upon escaping from the room, our Game Masters will happily take a team photo to commemorate your victory.
