Remote Avatar Experience

The Heist takes you inside Stephen J. Pillager’s art gallery as you attempt to retrieve a precious piece of stolen artwork. Our infiltration specialist isn’t the brightest, so you will need to lead them through this tricky heist.

This experience is identical to our physical experience at our St. Paul location, except you and your team will play it online!

This experience runs off Zoom and you will need access to a web browser (we recommend playing from a laptop or desktop computer.) Tickets are $26/person with a 3 person minimum.

The Reviews Are In:

“Having previously witnessed first-hand what Trapped is capable of basing on their audio-led games, I’ve always had a certain level of confidence they will do a good job with their project expansion. And thankfully, my instinct was proven correct with “The Heist”. The folks from Trapped are hardworking, passionate, and evidently, very good at their craft. If more avatar-led options are in the pipeline, the escape room community is in for quite the treat.”

Playing a game by Trapped Puzzle Rooms is always a treat — everything they pump out is beautifully designed. The Heist is their first leap into an avatar game, and the charm of the adventure really translated well. The puzzles were fun and interactive through a digital interface, aiding in the interactions and puzzle-solving through both camera and inventory. Our avatar was amazing, adding great character to the narrative. (Every host I’ve seen for any one of their games has been top-notch.)

What is a Live Avatar Experience?

We’ve taken our fantastic puzzle rooms experiences, and made it possible for you to play them in the comfort of your own home. Our expert game masters will be your eyes and ears, as they navigate our physical spaces for you. Through Zoom, you’ll be able to see what they see, and direct them to succeed at these missions. It’s all the fun of being at our escape rooms, without having to travel!

What do I need to play?

Our Live Avatar Experiences are played via Zoom, video conference software that is free for you to log into and use. You will receive a web link sent to the email address provided for your booking, which will connect you to the Zoom call used for your experience. You will also need access to a web browser, as we use a site called Telescape to show you close-up images, maps, and puzzles that enhance the experience. We recommend players utilize a laptop or computer while playing, but multiple people can gather around one device, as long as everyone can hear and communicate with the host.

When will I receive information about how to connect to the room online?
You’ll receive an email shortly after making your booking, which will contain a link to the experience. Send this link to everyone playing and ensure everyone logs in at least 15 minutes prior to the start of your experience.

 How many people can play?

We recommend our Live Avatar Experiences for groups of up to 8 people. Please note that tickets are purchased on a per person basis, regardless of the number of devices that connect to the Zoom call. And, all groups are required to purchase a minimum of 3 tickets. But, all Live Avatar Experiences are private experiences – you will not be playing with anyone outside of your group.

 How long is the experience?

Our Live Avatar Experiences last for up to 70 minutes. Please log into the Zoom call at least 15 minutes early to give yourself plenty of time to address any technical issues.

 How much does it cost?

Tickets are $26 per person, with a 3-ticket minimum for all groups. Please note that tickets are purchased on a per person basis, regardless of the number of devices that connect to the Zoom call. All Live Avatar Experiences are private experiences – you will not be playing with anyone outside of your group.

Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?

Due to the popularity of our rooms, we do not offer refunds and may or may not be able to reschedule depending on availability.

 Do you offer gift vouchers?

We sure do! Take a look at our Booking Page; there is a button at the top to purchase gift vouchers.

I’ve played The Heist at your St. Paul location. Is this different?

We’ve made some minor tweaks to accommodate for online play, but the experience is essentially the same. If you’ve played The Heist at our St. Paul location already, we do not recommend playing this as well, unless you’ve been meaning to replay it anyway!

My organization wants to show how awesome we are. What size groups can you accommodate?

We recommend a single group have up to 8 players at once. If you have a larger group, give us a call or drop us an email – we’d love to work with you to accommodate your group size
